Biography

Dr. Aishah earned her PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1999. She served over 20 years as a lecturer at Universiti Malaya (UM) before joining Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah in 2020 as an associate professor. A recognized educator, she received the National Teaching Award in 2006 and UM's Chancellor Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007. Throughout her career, Dr. Aishah held key leadership roles, including Head of Teaching and Learning and Director of UM’s Academic Development Centre and was seconded twice to the to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) as the Director of Academic Development Management Division.  She has contributed significantly to higher the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint (2015-2025). Her work in policy development led to the creation of initiatives like the 2u2i study mode, Mata Pelajaran Umum 2.0, Garispanduan Pembangunan Program Akademik 2.0, Framing Higher Education 4.0. Malaysia English Assessment, Flexible Education, TVET teacher standard and ASEAN Student Mobility. At UMPSA, she serves as Director of the Centre for Instructional Resources and e-Learning (CIReL), focusing on enhancing the university's e-learning and blended learning frameworks. Her current research includes digital assessment, transformative curriculum design, and the integration of spiritual intelligence in Islamic research. Additionally, she is involved in national projects such as developing the Malaysian Digital Framework for Educators and authentic online examination methods.
