Biography


NIK ALOESNITA NIK MOHD ALWI, Associate Professor (Dr.), holds a PhD from VUW, New Zealand. She is currently a senior academic at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), where she teaches English language and communication courses. At the postgraduate level, she lectures in Applied Linguistics and TESL/TESOL/TEFL, supervises research candidates, and actively publishes in the areas of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL), and Language Assessment. Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Nik has contributed extensively to developing language-related curricula and training modules for higher education and industry stakeholders. Her leadership at UMPSA includes serving as Dean of the Centre for Modern Languages and Director of the International Office. She currently leads as the Director of the Centre for Academic Collaboration & Mobility (CACM), overseeing the strategic development and implementation of dual degree initiatives and student mobility programmes; both inbound and outbound, credit and non-credit; to enhance the university's global engagement and academic partnerships. At the national level, Dr. Nik has played a key role in advancing language education policy and inter-institutional collaboration. As former Chair of the Malaysian Public University Language Deans’ Council, she led initiatives to strengthen the quality and coherence of language education across public universities. A strong advocate of educational quality assurance, she has served as an assessor with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) since 2011 and previously served as a member of the MQA Accreditation Committee (Arts).
