Biography


NIK ALOESNITA BINTI NIK MOHD ALWI holds a PhD degree awarded by Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She is teaching English language and communication courses at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). She also teaches postgraduates majoring in Applied Linguistics and TESL/TESOL/TEFL, supervises research and publishes her work mainly in the area of second language acquisition (SLA), task-based language learning and teaching (TBLT), and technology-enhanced language learning (TELL). Nik has developed language related curriculum and training modules for use at the university and industry. At UMPSA, she has been entrusted with several management roles such as the Director of International Office, Deputy Dean (Academic) and Head of Technical & Services. She is currently the Dean of Centre for Modern Languages and serves as a Chair of Malaysian Public Universities Language Deans Council. Such experiences further strengthen her managerial and leadership skills deemed important for the development of an organisation as a whole. As a strong advocate of providing quality education, she has been contributing to the nation as an assessor at Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) since 2012 and has recently been appointed as a member of MQA Accreditation Committee (Arts).
