Biography
Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd. Arfian Ismail is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and has extensive experience in teaching, research, academic leadership, and curriculum development in computing and artificial intelligence.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Intelligent Data Analytics. His research focuses on developing intelligent, secure, and trustworthy AI solutions for applications in healthcare, education, finance, agriculture, and smart technologies. He has published numerous articles in reputable international journals and conference proceedings and actively collaborates with academic institutions, industry, and government agencies on research, innovation, consultancy, and knowledge transfer initiatives.
Dr. Mohd. Arfian has contributed significantly to the development and accreditation of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, particularly in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. His expertise includes Outcome-Based Education (OBE), curriculum design, Work-Based Learning (WBL), industry-integrated education, and academic quality assurance to enhance graduate employability and future workforce readiness.
He holds multiple internationally recognised professional certifications from Microsoft Azure, Oracle, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), demonstrating expertise in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data engineering, and enterprise technologies. He is also an active trainer and facilitator for professional certification programmes, delivering industry-oriented training for academics, professionals, and students.
In addition, Dr. Mohd. Arfian serves as an external examiner, programme evaluator, journal reviewer, and invited keynote speaker at national and international academic events, supporting excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
