Biography

Dr. Asar Abdul Karim has been a lecturer at the Centre for Human Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah since 2006, specializing in Fiqh & Usūl al-Fiqh. He holds a PhD and MA in the field, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Widely recognized as the creator of the “AsarFonts” software for Jāwī and Arabic Romanization writing systems, he was honoured as the “Pahang State Maulidur Rasul Figure 2013.” He has served as an external consultant for the development of the COPPA MQA-01 Diploma in Shariah Hijāmah curriculum at Kolej Space, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2022), and has held the position of Head of Postgraduate Studies at his centre. His current research focuses on the integration of Islāmic knowledge with technology, particularly in digital publishing, contemporary Islāmic education, and Prophetic medicine including hijāmaћ. He is also a certified Outcome-Based Learning practitioner accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
