Biography

Ts. Dr. Norasyikin Ismail is a Senior Lecturer and Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology (Petroleum) programme at the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). She obtained her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Texas A&M University, USA, where her research focused on in situ combustion kinetics. Her research interests encompass Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), and waste-to-wealth technologies, integrating fundamental combustion kinetics with applied petroleum and sustainable energy engineering. She has led and contributed to numerous nationally and institutionally funded research projects, with a strong focus on developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the energy sector. As Program Coordinator, Ts. Dr. Norasyikin plays a key role in the development and continuous enhancement of UMPSA's Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology (Petroleum) programme, ensuring its curriculum remains aligned with industry needs and emerging technological advancements. She is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), a registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and a Professional Technologist (Oil and Gas Technology) with the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT). With a growing portfolio of peer-reviewed publications indexed in Google Scholar and Scopus, Ts. Dr. Norasyikin continues to strengthen research collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners, advancing innovation in petroleum engineering, carbon management, and sustainable energy technologies.
