Biography

Fahmi Bin Samsuri obtained his B.Eng in Electrical, Electronics & System Engineering in 1999 and M.Sc from UKM in 2002. He joined UMP in 2005, and successfully obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Canterbury University, New Zealand in 2011. Before UMP, he worked in several companies involved in IC design. Currently he is the Director for Industry-Centre of Excellence (I-CoE) Cluster of Electrical & Electronics. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Corporate Member with the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. Since 2018, he has been appointed as Adjunct Research Advisor for Nan Yang Academy of Sciences, Singapore. He is the principle researcher of 20 research grants with funds of US$ 1.2M. 15 of the research work were already completed . He supervised 6 Masters and 5 PhD students with all of thestudents have graduated. He holds 2 patents and published more than 70 articles and received more than dozen awards with wide network of research collaboration in multiple fields.  He is the panel examiner for Engineering & Technology Accreditation Council, MQA external auditor, external PhD examiners for Anna University, India, and Ministry of Education review panel for FRGS applications. Other work involves consultation for government related to academic curriculum development, technical and competency trainings. He has very good work relationship with industries like Keysight, Samsung, and Huawei. He was the Finalist for Best Academia Industry Collaboration Award with Keysight (Advanced RF Wireless Communication Laboratory) in 2016.
