Biography


Hadi Manap was appointed as an academic staff in UMP since July 2002. He was attached to Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Science & Industrial Technology, Faculty of Technology and currently with Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technology. His primary research area is about optical sensor development for various industries such as automotive, medical instruments and environmental monitoring.

As a researcher in optical sensing, Hadi Manap studies on the absorption cross section of many gases in a few wavelength regions. The absorption cross section of oxygen molecules is studied for the car exhaust gases system to improve combustion engine system and to reduce pollution. The ammonia gas absorption cross section is studied in the UV wavelength region for the environmental monitoring system development. Besides studies on gas sensors, he also carry out other researches on liquid substances such urid acid for gout patients, heated palm oil to determine free fatty acid for food safety, bilirubin in blood to detect jaundice for medical application, etc.

Throughout his research, Hadi Manap has won many research competition awards by local and international body. He won a silver medal in Malaysian Technology Expo, MTE 2013, PWTC, Malaysia. He also won Double Gold award by Invention New Product Exposition, INPEX, Pittsburgh, USA in 2013. A Bronze medal was also awarded by Int. Engineering invention & Innovation Exhibition (i-ENVEX) in 2015.
