Biography
Prof. Ir. Dr. Mahendran Samykano is an accomplished Professor, Academician, Researcher, EAC Evaluator, and Consultant at the FTKMA, UMP. He earned his PhD in Nanoengineering in 2015 from the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, NCA&T State University, and the UNC at Greensboro, USA, where he received prestigious awards for his outstanding academic achievements.
In 2019, he was appointed as the Head of Program (BMA) and External Advisor for Sunway University, where he developed innovative curricula for mechanical engineering programs and the PhD in Sustainability Science & Technology. He actively participated in various academic activities, including accreditation evaluation panels and contributing to the activities of the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
Dr. Mahendran's research interests encompass mechanical, materials science, nanofluid, and additive manufacturing. He has an impressive publication record with over 140 publications, including journals, proceedings, and technical reports. His research projects have received significant funding from national and international agencies. He has also received recognition through international and national exhibition awards.
Due to his expertise in materials, Dr. Mahendran has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor and Visiting Professor at various international institutions. He also serves as a reviewer for reputable national and international journals and holds memberships in several professional and scientific societies.
Dr. Mahendran's contributions to academia and research, along with his extensive publication record and recognition in the scientific community, he was included in the World's Top 2% scientist list published by Elsevier BV and Stanford University in 2022.
