Biography


Professor Ts. Dr. Md Mustafizur Rahman is a researcher working with the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology, UMPSA, Malaysia. Prof Rahman served as a Dean of Research at UMPSA. Prof. Rahman also served as Deputy Director of AEC, UMP. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from BUET, Bangladesh. Prof. Rahman received his PhD from the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, UKM, Malaysia. He served as a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KUET, Bangladesh and as an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, SUST, Bangladesh. He served as the head of the same department. Prof. Rahman's research focuses on internal combustion engines, alternative fuels, heat transfer, nanocoolants, fatigue and fracture, computational mechanics, machining, optimisation, and finite element analysis. Prof. Rahman has published over 429 articles in academic journals and conferences worldwide. Prof. Rahman served as editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering and the Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences and on the editorial boards of ten scientific journals. He has supervised 16 PhD and 18 M.Sc. Eng. candidates and over 60 undergraduate theses. He has been the technical reviewer of over 35 scientific journals and a technical member for several conferences, and a member of several professional societies.
