Biography
Dr Nadiya bt Hj Abd Halim is a senior lecturer from Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Faculty of Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). She has an Honours degree in Biochemical-Biotechnology Engineering from International Islamic University, Malaysia and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Her core research area is in risk assessment in chemical/pharmaceutical unit operations. Her research (together with her previous colleagues and team) is one of the pioneers in the Fr 13 risk framework, where Fr 13 risk is defined as ‘despite good design and operation of a plant, there will always be an unexpected failure’. Nadiya's current research interest are in pharmaceutical, chemical and food process unit operations. Nadiya has presented in several international conferences such as in New Zealand and France, and has published several scopus indexed publications, such as in Chemical Engineering Science and Food Control. Her researches have also been cited several times in other publications. Nadiya started working with UMP in the Faculty of Engineering Technology since 2017. She is also an Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
