Biography
Noraziah Ahmad is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Computer Systems & Software Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Pahang(UMP). She is also the research fellow of IBM Centre of Excellence, UMP. Her research involves distributed database systems, data grid and data mining, computational intelligence and big data. Currently, there are urgent requirement to obtain solutions for managing the critical data and application effectively, due large scales data resources and information in distributed environment. Her research also focus on what will happen in the event of disaster, how to manage replicated data when servers receive too many transactions, overloaded and impact the bottleneck of the systems. She has been appointed as the leader of the database expert research group for Artefact Social Research Networking Eco-System Project under Malaysian Greater Research Network (MyGRANTS). She has published more than 200 scientific papers in International and national. She has been awarded more than 150 reputed international and national awards, prizes, patents, grants, scholarships and honours; as such Gold Medal and Special Prize on Korea Woman Inventor, Top Notch & Grand Prix Archimedes Moskova Awards. She has received the Special Top/Down FRGS Grants 2014 which the only project selected by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia under Technology and Communication Cluster in 2014, out of 100 nominated/presented for FRGS Best Award 2010. She also has been selected as the Winner for National Intellectual Property Award 2014 by Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), Ministry of Trade and Industry Malaysia.
