Biography
Dr. Nurul Akmarina Mohd Abdul Kamal is a pharmaceutical chemist and senior lecturer with expertise in functional material platforms for pharmaceutical applications. She currently serves as Head of the PharmTech Cluster, where she leads research directions and actively fosters multidisciplinary and translational collaborations. Her research interests include the design and engineering of nanoparticles such as metal-organic frameworks, polymeric systems, and lipid-based carriers for controlled, targeted, and stimuli responsive delivery across a range of therapeutic applications, including oncology. She adopts an integrated approach that combines formulation development, physicochemical characterization, and preclinical evaluation, with a strong emphasis on reproducibility, scalability, and real-world applicability. Dr. Akmarina has secured internal and national research grants and remains open to academic and industry partnerships, joint research projects, postgraduate co-supervision, and international collaboration.
