Biography


Dr. Rahimah Embong started her academic profession as a senior lecturer at the University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology in January 2020. With a passion for sustainability and innovation in the construction industry, her research focuses primarily on the following:
1) Green and Sustainable Construction Materials- specifically on finding new processing methods for agricultural and industrial waste
2) Advanced Materials
3) Self-Compacting Concrete
4) Pre-treatment of Pozzolan
 
Over the years, Rahimah has made significant contributions to the field of civil engineering, and her work has been recognized and awarded on multiple occasions (Exhibitions and Publications). She has published almost 28 journal papers and conference proceedings related to her expertise. Dr. Rahimah is a member of several professional organizations, including the Concrete Society  of Malaysia,  Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT), where she serves as a Professional Technologist under MBOT for Building & Construction Technology (BC). During her master's degree, she received the prestigious "Best Researcher Award" at the 16th Convocation Ceremony (2016) at the University Teknologi Petronas (UTP) for her outstanding research work. Furthermore, Rahimah continued to excel in her academic journey. She was awarded the "Best Thesis Award" in the Engineering Category in 2019 for her excellent achievement through her Ph.D. thesis from Universiti Malaysia Pahang.
