Biography


Ruzaimi received his Bachelor and Master’sdegrees in Mechanical Engineering from UTM, and completed his Doctorate degree from the Impact Research Centre, University of Liverpool in 2013. He started his career as a Research Officer at Centre for Composite, UTM from 2004 to 2005, and then joined KUKTEM (now is known as UMP) as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) in May 2005. He has held various management positions since 2005, Fellow of Student’s Residential College 1, Principal of Student’s Residential College 2 (2006), Head of the Mechanical Engineering Programme (2007 – 2008), Deputy Dean of Academic & Student Development Affairs (2008 – 2009),  Head of Automotive Engineering Programme (2014 - 2018), Deputy Dean for Student Development & International (2019), Director of German Academic Collaboration Centre (2020-2021). Now, he is  DirectorofCentre for Strategic Academic Collaborationsince April 2022. His research interests are in novel lightweight structure, polymer composites, finite element method, mechanical design and material testing and performance evaluation. He also involves actively in research and development projects, consultation works, academic discussion activities and social services. He has published more than 150 papers in journals and conferences. He is a Professional Technologies (P.Tech), MBOT. For international recognition, he is a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng), IMechE, UK. He is actively involved as Certified Auditor for the MQA and TTAC - MBOT.  He is also the member of several professional bodies such as BEM, ASC, MySET, and others.
