Biography
Dr. Noor Intan Shafinas Muhammad is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), where she also serves as the Head of the Education Cluster at the Sustainability Development Center and a Research Fellow in Sustainability of Mineral and Resource Recovery Technology. She obtained her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from Iowa State University, USA, and has established a distinguished academic career in sustainable energy and environmental engineering. Her research expertise includes biomass energy technology, renewable energy systems, waste valorisation, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA), carbon management, and circular economy strategies. Throughout her career, Dr. Noor Intan has demonstrated strong research leadership by securing competitive research grants totaling over a million as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, and by leading multidisciplinary projects in renewable energy, refuse-derived fuel, sustainable materials, and resource recovery. She has published extensively in high-impact indexed journals, supervised postgraduate students to successful completion, and established active collaborations with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry partners to advance sustainability research and innovation. She is a Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Certified ESG & Sustainability Practitioner, a GreenRE Accredited Professional, an IASSC Certified Green Belt, and a Thermal Energy Recovery Technologist (Advanced). Through excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and academic leadership, she continues to contribute significantly to UMPSA's mission of advancing sustainable development and impactful engineering solutions
