Biography


Dr. Ahmad Shahir Jamaludin earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical System Engineering from Kanazawa University, Japan, in 2010. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Science in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. Dr. Ahmad Shahir then returned to Kanazawa University to complete his Ph.D. in Engineering, which he received in 2017. Currently, he is a senior lecturer at FTKPM and dedicated to developing effective educational approaches for machining processes and technology, emphasizing fundamental machining, mathematics, metal cutting science, and advanced machining techniques. He is passionate about imparting his love for teaching and learning, math, science, and technology to future generations.

As a highly skilled researcher in mechanical and manufacturing fields, Dr. Ahmad Shahir has extensive expertise in the following areas:

  • Finite Element Method (SFTC-Deform, Ansys)
  • Advanced Machining (Laser Assisted Machining)
  • Sustainable Machining (Minimum Quantity Lubrication)
