Biography


Muhammad Sharfi Najib, currently an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) within the Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, brings over 12 years of experience. He earned his PhD in Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, specializing in strategic academic management and financing. He has held pivotal roles as Head of Technical, Head of the ICE Research Cluster, and Head of the COINS research group. Presently, he serves as a distinguished research fellow at the Advanced Industrial Technology Centre of Excellence. His research focuses on smart sensors (E-nose and NIR-optical), artificial intelligence, and case-based reasoning, applied across environmental monitoring, food quality, waste management, biotechnology, agriculture, and automotive sectors. He boasts a substantial publication record and has been honored with multiple awards, including gold medals at CITREX, ITEX, MTE, PECIPTA, and INPEX exhibitions. Additionally, Muhammad Sharfi Najib assumes the role of Chief Technology Officer at Synbion Sdn Bhd, directing efforts in commercializing E-nose technology for diverse applications. Before joining UMP, he worked as a mechatronics and automation engineer at Talent Synergy Sdn Bhd incorporated with Ingress Corporation Bhd.
