Biography

Dr Saidatul Shima Jamari is an Associate Process at Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Her research expertise is in Advance Material and Biocomposites. Much of her works involved value creation from 'waste' biomass materials, especially from the palm industries. Specifically, one of the main thrusts of this research involves the conversion of palm biomass into high value added products such as cellulose and carbonaceous materials. In terms of the biocomposites research, she involves in the work related to the superabsorbent polymer for the fertilizer application.

On the leadership front, she has been active in organizing various related conferences such as the International Conference on Biomass for Value-Added Products (ICBBVAP 2012). This conference was jointly organized by UMP, FRIM with funding from Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT). She was also the Hon. Secretary as well as the Vice Chair for the International Conference of Chemical Engineering & Industrial Biotechnology (ICCEIB) 2016 and 2018 respectively.
