Biography


Dr. Wan Maznah is a registered Biomedical Scientist with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council, Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Her research focuses on the development of topical drug delivery formulations such as nanoemulsions, hydrogels, gels and creams with evaluations conducted in both in vitro (cell culture) and in vivo (animal) models to establish safety and therapeutic efficacy. Beyond formulation science, her research extends to the investigation of infectious diseases with particular emphasis on antimicrobial and antiparasitic agents. She has also contributed significantly to natural product research, working on the extraction and characterization of medicinal plants for clinical applications including antioxidant profiling, antimicrobial activity assessments and phytochemical identification. In addition, she is certified in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, enabling her to conduct and oversee clinical trials in accordance with international standards.
