Biography


Zulhelmi Ismail received his Diplom (FH) in Mechanical Engineering from Cologne University of Applied Sciences in 2011 and completed his  PhD (2017) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang. During his PhD study, he established a patented synthesis method of almost defect-free of graphene from exfoliation of graphite in black tea by using a kitchen blender. Currently, he is focusing on the liquid-phase exfoliation of low-dimensional nanostructures that including graphene, carbon nanotubes and other inorganic 2D materials. His main aim is the application of these functional materials for the novel development of smart polymer nanocomposite, printed electronics, and electromechanical device.
